He had the privilege of working in the funeral industry with his son, Pat and grandsons, Patrick and Adam before his death on November 7, 2006. As a licensed Funeral Director, he owned and operated Boylan Funeral Home in Evans City for more than 45 years. The following year he enrolled in the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science graduating in 1948.
